A fifty-centimetre purple robot with one eye, two horns and three dorsal thrusters he had never once switched on. Snob, coward, drama queen, permanent commentator — and constitutionally incapable of lying, which is exactly what makes him funny. He carries the prototype balls in a padded safe inside his own chest. He told Goten he was staying to repay a debt of honour. There was never any debt.
Goten's mother, and the only person on Earth he actually obeys. She has fed a Saiyan appetite for twenty years and no longer finds anything about it remarkable — she just refills the bowl and keeps talking. She rode the Flying Nimbus before he was born and holds on to nothing. Ask her whether she misses Goku and she will answer a completely different question, which tells you everything.
A Dorakiyan from Universe 11 — a monster-puppeteer who survived the fire the Pride Troopers left behind, and slipped into Universe 7 with a scouter and a great deal of patience. His face never moves; the only living thing about him is the red readout over his eye. He never throws a punch. He can't wake the prototype balls himself, so he lets a boy do the work and takes the harvest. His name is a wasp, and it always was.
The brilliant older brother, and the busiest man alive. He'll drop one perfect piece of wisdom, realise what time it is, apologise, and leave. Pan's father, a scholar by day, and quietly still one of the strongest people on the planet — which everyone including him has half forgotten. Goten never asks him for help, because Gohan already has enough to carry.
Twenty years old, Deputy Director of Capsule Corporation, and a ten-year-old again the second Goten walks in. He runs a company in a suit and takes it off to weld things nobody asked him to build. He worked out how the prototype balls whisper to each other and built a radar around one of them, without telling his mother. He'd never admit it, but he'd trade the office for a Flying Nimbus in a heartbeat.
Capsule Corp's most practical person and the reason things actually get finished. She spots what a machine could become before its owner does — she's the one who asked to keep Numéro 3 for twenty-four hours to unlock what he'd been carrying unused all along. Dry, unflappable, and entirely aware of the effect she has on a small purple robot who insists his reasons are strictly strategic.
Ten metres of what a Saiyan is underneath everything else. It needs a tail, a full moon, and no one at home behind the eyes. Goten has no memory of it and no control over it — it flattens whatever is in front of it and stops when the light goes out. Near the prototype balls it is the only form that still works, which means every time he is truly cornered, the boy leaves and the animal arrives.
Where this series sits ? Two years after the end of Dragon Ball Z. Goten is 19. The series treats official Dragon Ball, Z, Daima and Super as canon, and makes exactly one declared divergence: GT never happened. The order of events before the series : Year 774 : End of the Majin Buu arc. Goten is 7. ~774–775 :Daima. Everyone is turned into children and travels to the Demon Realm. Neva restores Goku's tail and turns him into Super Saiyan 4 — once. Goku loses the tail again afterward. 778 :Dragon Ball Super begins. Beerus, Champa, Zamasu, the Tournament of Power. Goku reaches Super Saiyan God, Blue, and Ultra Instinct; Vegeta reaches Ultra Ego; Gohan reaches Beast. Goten spends this entire era doing essentially nothing. 784 :End of Z's final arc. Goku leaves to train with Uub. 786 : Goten's Great Adventure begins. Daima is the load-bearing piece of this timeline, and the whole premise rests on it. Goku has been Super Saiyan 4 — exactly once, in another world, a long time ago. He didn't discover it: someone gave it to him. An old man raised a hand and restored his tail. He no longer has the tail, which is why the form never appears in Super. So in Age 786: Goku doesn't have a tail. Vegeta doesn't have a tail. Gohan never had one. Goten does. It grew back on its own, when he touched the first prototype ball in Episode 1. He is the only living Saiyan who can transform this way, and the only one who can even A planet where a whole city fits in a capsule you can hold in your palm, and where the man selling you noodles might be a talking dog. Beyond the last towns, the map gives up: dinosaur valleys, white gypsum deserts, canyons deep enough to lose a mountain in, oceans nobody has crossed. There are seven cities and a thousand places with no name at all, and you can fly for three days in a straight line and still find something new. It's a bright, generous, faintly ridiculous world — and it has never been fully explored by anyone.

What is this? An original live-action fan series set in the Dragon Ball universe — a doujinshi, made independently and posted free on YouTube. Roughly 10 minutes per episode, told in arcs. Do I need to know Dragon Ball to watch? No. Everything you need is explained on screen. If you already know the series, you'll catch a lot more jokes. When does it take place? Age 786 — two years after the end of Dragon Ball Z. In this branch of the timeline, GT never happened. Goten is nineteen. Why is Goten the main character? Because nobody ever gave him a story. He's the son of the strongest man alive and the one character the saga never developed. That's the whole point: what do you do when you're born in the shadow of legends? Where's Goku? Gone. Training somewhere, and nobody knows where. His parting gift to his son was the Flying Nimbus — not a map, not a mission. Goten's adventure is entirely his own. Hold on — Goten doesn't have a tail. He didn't. It was cut off when he was a baby, and he's never been told why. Touching the first prototype Dragon Ball in episode 1 wakes it back up. It has opinions, it steals bread, and it works better than any radar.

What are the prototype Dragon Balls? Small, warm, orange glass spheres with no stars inside — the first set ever made, built by an ancient god long before Shenron. Their dragon granted wishes with no limit at all, so the order was given to destroy them. Officially, it was carried out. Each surviving ball quietly rewarps the region it sleeps in: a canyon where rocks fall sideways, a desert that swallows a country. Why not just use the normal Dragon Balls? Shenron can't touch them. They're older than he is, and made by a greater hand. The regular Dragon Balls are useless here. Why doesn't Goten just tell Gohan, or Vegeta, or Piccolo? Because the guardian of Earth asked him not to, and because Goten genuinely thinks it's not that big a deal. He's also the only person alive who can sense the balls at all — so it's his errand whether anyone likes it or not. Who's the little purple robot? Number 3. Fifty centimetres, one eye, two horns, a professional oil sommelier and a coward of rare quality. He is the best thing that has ever happened to this series and he would like you to know that the coconut oil is a serious matter. Is any of this canon? Absolutely not. Where’s Goku? Gone. He left to train, and nobody knows where — not Chi-Chi, not Vegeta, not Bulma. The only thing he left behind for his youngest son was the Flying Nimbus. No map, no instructions, no mission. That absence is the starting point of the whole series. And Vegeta? Exactly where you'd expect: in a gravity chamber, at home, being a father about it. He's not looking for a fight, there isn't one to find, and nobody has told him there's anything worth his time. That's rather the point. What about Gohan? Married, a father, and buried in academic work. He's the smartest man on the planet and he has about four minutes of attention to spare. He gives his little brother exactly one piece of brilliant advice per visit, usually several hours too late, and then he has to run. Why don't the adults just handle this? Three reasons, and they hold all season. Dende asked for silence. Goten genuinely doesn't think it's serious enough to bother anyone. And he's the only person alive who can sense the prototype balls at all — so even if the whole roster showed up, they'd be standing around watching him work. Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, the others? Living their lives. Peace has held for years — the fighters have jobs, kids and hobbies now. Nobody is watching the horizon anymore, which is precisely why something managed to slip past it. Will the big names show up later? Some will, in their own way. But this isn't their story — it's the one nobody wrote for Goten.
