Which lighting settings can I change?

This page controls one light: direction, elevation, brightness, color temperature and diffusion. Six direction shortcuts give you a starting point, and you can refine the settings without writing a prompt.

Does the 3D preview show the final photo?

No. It is a guide for positioning and adjusting the light, not an accurate preview of AI-generated shadows or detail. Generate an image to see the result of your settings.

Can I relight a portrait?

Yes. A clear portrait is a useful starting point for exploring side lighting, a warmer mood or softer illumination. Check the generated face, hair and skin tones, because AI can change details as well as light.

Can I change the lighting in a product photo?

Yes. Try a different light direction or softness on a product or still life. Inspect logos, small text, reflections and material colors before using the result in a listing.

Will every detail of my photo stay the same?

Exact preservation is not guaranteed. Relighting is a generative edit, so fine details, textures or colors can change. If you only need global brightness or color corrections, Image Adjuster may fit better.

How much does relighting cost?

Each run takes one image and generates one result for 5 credits. You need to sign in to generate; changing the light controls does not spend credits. A new generation is a separate run.

Which image formats does this page use?

Is the photo processed on my device?

AI generation requires uploading your photo to YouArt for processing. The interactive light controls run in your browser, but the relighting operation is not an offline photo edit.

Can I include relighting in a longer workflow?

How to relight a photo in three steps

Control where the light falls and how it feels

Direction and elevation

Start from front, back, left, right, above or below. Refine the horizontal direction and elevation to explore a different relationship between light and shadow.

Brightness and diffusion

Set the light's brightness, then adjust diffusion for a harder or softer lighting character. Try gentle settings first when you want a restrained change.

Warm or cool light

Shift the color temperature to suggest warmer or cooler illumination. Review the generated skin tones and material colors before choosing the version to keep.

Choose the right edit

Relighting generates a new interpretation of illumination, including directional highlights and shadows. Use it when you want light to appear to come from somewhere else.
