Can I correct the subtitles and their timing?

Yes. Edit the text, start time and end time of each cue. Select a cue to check it against the video. Review names and specialized terms before export; automatic recognition may make mistakes. Changing a cue’s text or timing clears its word timestamps, so that cue displays as a whole instead of highlighting individual words.

Can I create animated video captions?

Yes. Choose from nine presets, including simple subtitles, word highlights and animated styles. You can adjust text size, colors, placement and direction. Word-by-word effects use measured speech timestamps. Imported SRT displays whole cues without word-level timing.

What is the difference between SRT and a captioned MP4?

SRT is a separate file containing subtitle text and times, suitable for players or editors that accept subtitle files. A captioned MP4 has the text and style rendered into the picture. Those subtitles stay visible and cannot be switched off in a player.

Which videos can I use, and is there a length limit?

Open a video your browser can play. Automatic speech recognition currently accepts sources up to 13 minutes 29 seconds and requires decodable audio. This generation limit does not apply to importing SRT. Larger files still depend on available browser memory and export support. Exporting the captioned video uploads it, up to 50 MB on Free and Basic or 200 MB on Pro and above.

Do I need to sign in?

Opening local videos, importing and editing SRT, previewing styles and downloading SRT are free and do not require sign-in. Automatic generation and regeneration require a YouArt account and use credits based on audio duration; the estimate appears before you generate. Cloud video export is separate and follows your account’s rendering access and pricing.

Where are my video and audio processed?

Local previews and subtitle editing run in your browser. When you generate subtitles, extracted audio is sent to our backend and speech-recognition provider. When you export a captioned video, the source video is uploaded for cloud rendering. Selecting an existing YouArt asset uses its hosted file.

Does this translate subtitles into another language?

This tool transcribes speech into subtitles in the spoken language; it does not translate it. Recognition detects the language automatically. You can import an SRT file containing text in another language and adjust the writing direction and style.
