Rotate and flip
Turn the picture 90 degrees at a time to fix a sideways photo, or drag the straighten slider to take a tilted horizon back to level a tenth of a degree at a time. Mirror it across or down as well.
Resize to exact pixels
Type the width and height you need, or scale by percentage. Lock the ratio to keep the shape, or unlock it to hit a spec exactly.

- What does this image cropper do?
- It cuts an image down to the part you want and lets you set its shape, orientation and size. You can drag a free crop or lock an aspect ratio, rotate in 90 degree steps or straighten by any angle up to 45 degrees, flip the picture across or down, resize to exact pixels or a percentage, and export as PNG, JPG or WebP.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened straight from your device and every change is drawn onto a canvas inside this browser tab. Nothing is sent to YouArt or to any third party, which also means there is no stored copy for anyone to access later. If you turn off your network after the page loads, the cropper still works.
- What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
- Cropping throws pixels away: you keep a region of the picture and discard the rest, which changes what is in the frame. Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes how many pixels describe it. This tool does both, in that order - crop first to choose the framing, then set an output size.
- Does cropping reduce image quality?
- Cropping on its own does not: the pixels you keep are the original ones. Quality only changes if you then resize, or if you export to JPG or WebP, which are lossy formats. Keeping the output at the crop's own pixel size and choosing PNG gives you an exact copy of the region you selected.
- What aspect ratios and presets are included?
- Free-form plus 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 16:9 and 9:16; story, feed portrait, thumbnail, pin and post shapes for social; and 6x4, 7x5, 10x8 and A4 for print. You can also ignore all of them and drag the box wherever you want.
- Which file formats can I use?
- Open a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, and download PNG, JPG or WebP. PNG keeps transparency, WebP gives the smallest file at the same quality, and JPG is the safest choice when something on the other end is fussy. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
- Is it really free?
- Yes, with no account, no credits and no watermark. It costs us nothing to run because your own browser does the work, so there is no usage limit to enforce. The paid part of YouArt is the AI image and video tools, which are a separate thing entirely.
