Which photos can I open?

You can open static RGB or grayscale JPG, PNG and WebP photos up to 32 MiB and 16 megapixels. Animated images, HEIC, RAW, HDR and CMYK files are not supported. The editor reports an error for unsupported color profiles.

How are exposure and contrast different?

Exposure changes the overall light level; +1 EV corresponds to twice the linear-light intensity. Contrast changes the separation between brighter and darker tones. A dull photo may need contrast, while a dark photo may need exposure. Strong adjustments can clip tones, so increase values gradually.

When should I use highlights, shadows, whites and blacks?

Highlights and shadows target broader bright and dark regions. Whites and blacks focus on the brightest and darkest tones. Use them together to balance the picture, but do not expect them to recover detail already lost to clipping in the original file.

What is the difference between vibrance and saturation?

Saturation changes overall color intensity. Vibrance gives less saturated colors more emphasis, making it useful when you want a gentler color boost. Neither replaces correct temperature and tint, so balance unwanted color casts first.

Can image adjustments fix a blurry or overexposed photo?

Sharpening defines existing edges, and tonal controls can reveal detail still present in the file. They cannot reliably recreate missing texture or clipped tones. A smaller preview can show grain, glow and edges differently from the full-size result; use 100% to inspect detail before downloading.

Which format should I choose for an adjusted image?

PNG and lossless WebP preserve transparency. JPEG uses lossy compression at quality 92 and flattens transparency onto white. Downloads keep the original dimensions. Exporting an already compressed source as PNG does not restore detail lost earlier.

How is an image adjuster different from a LUT tool?

What is the difference between bloom and halation?

How do I add film grain to a photo?

Start with a low grain amount, then adjust its size and color. Inspect faces, shadows and smooth backgrounds at the intended viewing size. Grain adds a fixed texture to the image; it does not remove noise or recover detail.

Start with balanced light and color, then shape the finish. Compare small changes with the original and inspect texture at 100%.

Exposure changes the overall light level. Contrast changes the separation between tones. Use highlights and shadows to target broader bright or dark areas, then whites and blacks to fine-tune the ends of the tonal range. Raising every control at once can flatten the photograph or push detail beyond the usable range.

Temperature changes the warm–cool balance, while tint addresses green–magenta shifts. Vibrance emphasizes less saturated colors; saturation changes overall color intensity. For portraits and product photos, start with restrained changes and compare skin tones, neutral backgrounds and familiar colors with the original.

Sharpening increases edge definition but cannot restore detail that was never captured. Inspect at 100% before choosing a final amount. Vignette changes edge brightness without changing the composition: negative values darken the edges and positive values lighten them. Keep both restrained for a natural finish.

Bloom spreads bright highlights into a soft glow; halation adds a warmer halo around bright edges. The threshold controls which highlights contribute to either effect, and each spread control adjusts its reach. Blur softens the whole photo, with no subject selection. Grain adds fixed texture with adjustable amount, size and color. Start gently, then inspect at the intended viewing size so the finish supports the subject.
