Start with the mark you want viewers to notice. A small logo can identify a clip without covering its subject; a full-frame image can add a graphic frame or transparent artwork. Preview both bright and dark scenes to check that the result stays readable.

Choose Text to enter a name, handle or short message and set its font, color and size. Choose Logo or image to use a positioned logo or full-frame artwork instead. Switching modes keeps your settings; only the selected type appears in the result. PNG and WebP can preserve transparent areas. JPEG keeps a solid background, which stays visible until you remove it from the image.

The 3×3 grid anchors a mark to the top left, top center, top right, center left, center, center right, bottom left, bottom center or bottom right. Margins keep it away from the edge; X and Y controls refine its position. Left and right always refer to the physical video frame, including in right-to-left interfaces. Check subtitles and faces before exporting.

Fit shows the entire image while preserving its proportions, so mismatched aspect ratios can leave part of the video uncovered. Fill covers the canvas and crops excess artwork. Stretch maps the image to the frame and can distort its shape. Transparent regions reveal the video beneath. Full-frame artwork is available in Logo or image mode.

The default covers the whole clip. Set a start and end when the watermark should appear only for part of the video, then add fade-in or fade-out if needed. Seek through the preview to check the transitions. Download settings control format, resolution and compatible audio; preview mute only changes what you hear while editing.

Adding watermarks to video: common questions

Yes. Choose Logo or image for a positioned logo or full-frame image, or choose Text for a written watermark. Only the selected type appears in the preview and export. Switching modes keeps the settings for each type so you can return to them. This tool does not combine separate image and text layers or add animated logos or tiled watermarks.

Choose any of nine positions: four corners, the center of each edge, or the middle of the frame. Use margins and horizontal or vertical adjustments to refine placement. The logo keeps its proportions when resized. Check the whole clip so your mark does not cover a moving face, caption or important detail.

A corner logo is a smaller mark anchored to a position in the video. A full-frame overlay uses the image across the canvas, such as a transparent graphic frame. Fit preserves all the artwork; Fill covers the frame by cropping excess; Stretch fills it by changing the image proportions. You can adjust opacity in either mode.

Use a static PNG or WebP that already contains transparent pixels to show the video around your logo. JPEG has no transparency and keeps its background. Lowering opacity makes the whole image translucent; it does not remove a white or colored background. Prepare a transparent logo first if that is the result you need. SVG and animated GIF overlays are not supported.

Yes. Apply it to the whole clip or choose a start and end time. Optional fade-in and fade-out make it appear and disappear gradually. Timing follows the video position, so you can pause or seek to check it. This is a fixed overlay, with no subject tracking or separate motion path.

Open one SDR MP4, MOV or WebM up to 60 seconds and 200 MiB, with codecs your browser can decode. Available exports are H.264 MP4 or VP9/VP8 WebM at 1080p or 720p, without enlarging the source. Keep audio retains compatible tracks or converts them when supported; an unsupported audio path is reported. Preview mute does not remove exported audio. HDR and camera Log footage are outside this tool’s scope.

Local video and image files are read and processed in your browser. If you choose an existing YouArt asset while signed in, the tool downloads it to your browser. The finished video downloads to your device. This page does not save the result back to your YouArt assets.

You can change the settings before export, and the original source file stays unchanged. The downloaded video is re-encoded with the visible mark burned into its frames, so it has no separate watermark layer to edit later. Reopen the original to make a different version. This tool adds a visible mark; it does not remove existing marks, create a forensic watermark or guarantee protection against copying.
