Asset Management and Workflow Folding
As your creative process evolves, the number of nodes on the workflow canvas increases rapidly. YouArt provides a Private Asset Management system designed specifically for complex workflows. It is primarily used to manage assets like Characters, Scenes and Objects, or user-defined assets such as storyboards and shot types.
Saving assets
Save a single node
- Right-click the node on the canvas and select Save as Asset.
- Give the asset a name.
- Choose an existing category, or create a new one.
The dialog that opens is where the naming happens. Enter a name, add an optional description, then open the Asset Category dropdown and pick one of the existing categories — None, Character, Scene or Object — or type your own into the custom category field and add it.
Save several nodes at once
You do not have to save nodes one by one. Use the marquee tool to select multiple nodes, and a Save as Asset option automatically appears below the selection.
Retrieve a saved asset
Open the Assets tab in the left sidebar of the canvas and simply drag your saved assets directly onto the workspace.
Workflow folding
Many nodes are merely intermediate steps, used for:
- Testing styles
- Tuning details
- Comparing variations
Once you have finalized a direction, their mission is complete — but you rarely want to delete them. Fold them away instead.
How to collapse nodes
- Select the group of intermediate nodes you no longer need to view.
- Click Collapse All at the bottom of the canvas.
The result: the nodes, parameters and information all remain intact, but the interface becomes clean. Only the key information for each node is displayed, making the canvas look much more organized.

How do I save a node as an asset in YouArt?
