Choose the idea that holds the pieces together
Describe the main person, object or scene, then add a few related fragments. A portrait might sit beside leaves and torn color shapes; a city might combine building cutouts with a strip of sea. You can also upload a photo as the starting point, with or without optional text.
Look at the subject first, then at the surrounding fragments. Check that the torn edges and different textures remain visible, and that the composition has some quiet space. For a new variation, ask for fewer objects, a larger focal cutout or a more restrained palette rather than adding detail everywhere.
Download the image and inspect faces, object boundaries and overlapping shapes at full size. If the collage will sit under a headline or inside another layout, review the crop and available space. Add exact typography in your design editor after selecting the artwork.
Different surfaces, one visual direction
Torn fibers, sharp cut edges and small overlap shadows help separate the layers. Photographic-style detail can sit beside flat colored paper, rough paint or printed dots. That change in surface gives the image a collage character instead of blending every element into one continuous photograph.
One larger subject anchors the smaller fragments, while changes in scale and patches of open background organize the page. Supporting shapes should reinforce the theme. A flower, a circle and a paper strip can be enough when their colors and placement work together.
A photo can guide the central subject while surrounding materials create a new composition. Keep the features you care about explicit in optional text, such as a hairstyle, face direction or building silhouette. The generator reinterprets the image, so inspect those details before choosing the result.
Use a theme to connect the fragments
Start with one subject, two or three supporting elements and a small color palette. Leave room for the edges and textures to show.
Try an orange flower and green fern leaves beside a small pale moth. Place them over torn teal and ochre paper, with a few printed-dot accents. Ask for visible photographic petal detail so the flower contrasts with the simpler paper shapes.
Describe a dark-haired person looking left, a fern cutout and a coral circle on cream paper. Add a torn turquoise strip below the face and keep the eye area clear. A limited set of fragments gives the portrait more room than an evenly filled scrapbook layout.
Try a coastal city assembled from building fragments and a strip of blue water, or an astronaut above an ochre paper desert. Name a clear central subject, a few supporting shapes and consistent light. Deliberate scale changes can make the image playful without making its arrangement confusing.

Connect a subject with a few visual symbols for an article or personal story. Choose fragments that communicate the idea without relying on small generated lettering.
Explore a mixed-media direction for a cover or square social image. Leave open ground where you intend to place your own title or other exact text later.
Reinterpret a familiar face alongside plants, places or objects that suit the mood. Keep the face clear and review important features against the reference.
Compare material combinations and palettes before building a fuller design. The flattened image can communicate a visual direction, while detailed layout and typography remain separate design decisions.
